World War 2 Movie Marathon

Over Labour Weekend's Friday night, all day Saturday and all day Sunday, Grant Preston and Matthew Pavletich intend to hold a World War 2 movie marathon. They will be a mix of VHS and DVDs. The Schedule is as follows, as closely as we can make it.

FRIDAY 20th: 7:00pm TO 12:00pm (approx.) Dunkirk, The Battle Of Britain, Sink The Bismarck.

SATURDAY 21st: 10:00am TO 12:00am (approx.) Tora Tora Tora, Dambusters, The Boat, Von Ryan's Express, 633 Squadron, Memphis Belle, To Hell And Back.

SUNDAY 22nd: 9:30am TO 10:00pm (approx.) A Bridge Too Far, The Longest Day, Saving Private Ryan, Patton.

The place is Grant's abode; 9B Mirrabooka Ave, Howick. I know that the above films represent the tip of the iceberg for the sheer number of movies made about WW2, but these titles represent some of the critically acknowledged best available. And, with about 30 hours of material to play, they are about all that we have time for! If we get a good turn out, we may have another WW2 marathon before Christmas to play just a few more.

There will be a charge to attend, $5 per day or just $10 for the whole lot, to offset some of the cost of movie hireage. Tea and coffee is provided but please provide your own junk food and soft drinks.

Any questions, direct most of them to Matthew Pavletich: Ph: 278-6025. mattblak@ihug.co.nz

Grant Preston's contact details: Ph: 535-6746. lindgold@internet.co.nz
